SPOKANE, Wash. – Before Starbucks had the Unicorn Frappuccino, Sweet Frostings had their own sweet drink by the same name.
Elizabeth Collier concocted the blue and pink milkshake-like drink a few months ago.
“[Our owner] has really given us a creative license,” said Collier. “We try to bring more whimsy to our products.”
Sweet Frostings, known for their handcrafted cakes, gives sugar enthusiasts free cupcakes on their birthday. Collier started whipping up the Unicorn Frappuccinos to give to tiny tots when they are celebrating.
A blue Unicorn Frappuccino is made with cotton candy powder, while the pink Unicorn is made with bubblegum flavored powder. If you ask nicely, the sweet crew will mix the two for an even more magical experience. The delectable confection is topped with homemade sprinkles, edible glitter, unicorn ear candy and a gold horn. Similar to the Starbucks frappuccino, there is no coffee in Sweet Frostings' drink.
Though the Unicorn Frappuccino was originally created for birthdays, anyone is welcome to enjoy one for just a few bucks.
