SPOKANE, Wash. – The city of Spokane is one of the top 100 safest cities in America for 2017, according to a new survey by personal finance website, WalletHub.
WalletHub determined America’s safest cities by comparing more than 180 of the country’s largest cities across 35 key indicators of safety. The indicators of safety included aspects like the number of assaults per capita, unemployment rate, road quality, and more.
Spokane came in at number 86 on the list of America’s safest cities. About two weeks before this WalletHub survey was released, KREM 2 worked on a story about Spokane’s crime rates being among the worst in the nation. We were able to verify that Spokane does in fact have one of the worst crime rates in the United States per capita, despite this new WalletHub survey that claims Spokane is one of the safest cities in America.
