SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Police Department is asking for the public’s help in any information that can explain the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman who was found in the Spokane River on Friday.

The Spokane County Medical Examiner said Selena Rose McGivern, 44, died of suicide by drowning and blunt force injuries.

McGivern’s body was found face down and nude prompting authorities to call in the SPD Major Crimes Unit to investigate.

Detectives are looking for anyone who may have seen McGivern between the hours of 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 20 and 8:00 a.m. the next day. She was last seen wearing a green coat and purple, fleece, pajama pants.
