SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane County Sheriff’s Air Support Unit personnel earned re-accreditation by the Airborne Law Enforcement Association and the Public Safety Aviation Accreditation Commission.
Sheriff’s officials said the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Regional Air Support Unit is one of 10 public safety aviation units in the nation to complete the process.
Officials said the accreditation process is voluntary and it establishes standards and a solid base of operation. They said it also provides a vital safety structure and measuring device of excellence, quality, safety and effective service.
Authorities said the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Regional Air Support Unit first received accreditation in 2014. At the time, it was one of only five air support units in the entire country to have their program fully accredited.
