SPOKANE, Wash . – The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a caregiver found a man dead and covered in blood in a bathroom when she arrived at work.
SCSO said it happened at a home in the 8600 block of N. Whitehouse Drive.
The caregiver told police she arrived at the house to provide assistance to a different family member living there and discovered the man unconscious in the bathroom.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and tried to save him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Due to the suspicious nature and injuries sustained by the male, Major Crimes Detectives were called to the scene to conduct the investigation as a possible homicide,” SCSO wrote in a release. “Detectives will be conducting interviews and processing evidence at the scene for several hours and with the known initial information do not believe there is any risk to the public associated with this investigation.”
N. Whitehouse Drive between W. Shasta Way and N. Weipert Drive will be closed to traffic during the investigation.
The Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office has not yet identified the victim, or named a cause of death.
