SPOKANE, Wash.—A collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian closed the intersection of Ruby and North Foothills Tuesday night.

Officials with the Spokane Police Department said the pedestrian was taken to the hospital, but was in stable condition with a few broken bones.

SPD said witnesses on scene reported that the driver had a green light when the pedestrian crossed against the don’t walk sign.

SPD reported witnesses told them the pedestrian appeared to be on his cell phone while crossing the street.

Law enforcement said it did not appear speed or intoxication were contributing factors for the incident.

SPD officials said the driver was not cited.
