SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – Crews from multiple Spokane Fire departments responded to a fire at a home on East 15th Avenue Wednesday afternoon.
The first units on scene said they saw smoke coming from the back of the two-story home and began an aggressive fire attack on the structure. The incident was upgraded to a working fire, bringing more resources to the scene. Officials said the fire appeared to have spread from a deck behind the home into the kitchen area and up into the attic. A large amount of interior ceiling and insulation had to be removed to make certain the first was extinguished according to a press release.
Two teenaged girls and one of the girl’s mother were in the home at the time of the fire. All three escaped safely, along with the family dog. No injuries have been reported.
