UPDATE: Missing 13-year-old Jordan Ballou has been located and is safe, according to SCSO.

She had not returned home Friday afternoon after meeting a friend at Edgecliff Park. Officials announced she made contact with her family just before 11 p.m. Friday night.

"We live in a great community and we are very appreciative of all of your help," SCSO said. "Thank you and have a fun but safe weekend."

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -- Spokane County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a 13-year-old girl who did not return home Friday afternoon.

Officials said Jordan Ballou, 13, was last seen near the 6300 block of East 4th at 3:00 p.m. They said she was walking from her home to meet a friend at Edgecliff Park but has not been seen since.

Authorities said her family has been searching for her and calling her cell phone but have not been able to locate or contact her. They are very concerned since Jordan does not have a history of this behavior.

Jordan is described as a white female, approximately 5’04”, 135 lbs., with brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a white sweatshirt, black and gray jogging shorts, white shoes, and a gray backpack.
