SPOKANE, Wash. -- Volunteers from across the Inland Northwest are coming together Thursday to build a playground.
They said it is much needed for the children at Spokane’s Northeast Youth Center. The 40 volunteers are from 19 credit unions in the area. They have donated about $20,000 to help build the playground.

Thursday is International Credit Union day and that is why the date was chosen. They are providing a play area for the pre-school students who have not had a place to call their own. The project is being gifted to the youth center by the credit unions involved.
There will be a dedication ceremony on October 24 at 9:30 a.m.
