SPOKANE, Wash. -- A local man was arrested after he reportedly attacked a victim’s car while carrying an oversized screwdriver outside of the downtown Nordstrom. According to documents, he also entered the store with the screw driver.

James Johnson, 30, reportedly approached the car of a Nordstrom employee, yelled expletives and told him to get out of the car.

The employee called Nordstrom’s loss prevention to report the incident. Loss prevention officials determined Johnson then entered the store and called a red code to evacuate everyone out of the building. Police were then called.

According to court documents, Johnson entered the employee stock room with the screwdriver. An employee said Johnson appeared to be wearing a brand new sport coat and refused to leave the stock room.

Officers said Johnson then climbed over the stock room wall and through the ceiling into a dressing room. Officers took Johnson into custody.

Johnson appeared in court on Monday for possible charges of second degree burglary and second degree malicious mischief.
