SPOKANE, Wash. – The Washington State Transportation Commission will be taking action

Wednesday afternoon to name State Route 27 after the teen who was killed in the Freeman High School shooting.

Sam Strahan was shot and killed on September 13 when he confronted the shooter.

The commission will discuss the renaming at its meeting at 3:00 p.m. at Spokane Valley City Hall.

If the action is passed, the Sam Strahan Memorial Highway would stretch from mile marker 82 to mile marker 68.9, passing by Freeman High School.
