SPOKANE, Wash. – Two people were injured at the Costco on North Division Wednesday evening.

Spokane Police said an adult and a child were hit by a car while they were walking through the parking lot.

The adult and child were a mother and her child.

Officials said the mother was pinned under the car at one point and they needed to use blocks to hoist the car up enough to pull the woman out to safety. They said her injuries are very serious. Both victims have been taken to the hospital. Authorities said the child's injuries are not as serious and is expected to be ok.

Part of the CostCo parking lot has been shut down during the investigation, it is expected to open back up around eight or nine o'clock Wednesday evening.

Police said the driver of the car is cooperating with the investigation.
