SPOKANE, Wash. – A church near Chief Garry Park has been burglarized three times in the last several months.

Ebenezer Life Holiness Church on East Mallon Avenue is one of three churches in the neighborhood that has been burglarized in the last four or five months.

The church has beefed up security each time they have been hit but they say the criminal keeps finding a new way to get in. They even put bars on the windows, added extra locks and got security cameras.

"We're trying to get this place as secure as possible, but every time he finds a new way to break in and it's like you know," said church member Letiseia Silva.

Church leaders said the suspect stole two TVs someone donated to the church, musical instruments and tools they bought to remodel the sanctuary. The church does not have a lot of money, so each time they have to replace tools or fix broken windows, it delays the remodel.

During the third break in, the suspect was caught on camera. The SPD Detective working the case said he usually gets his man, but has not been able to catch this suspect.

"Quite frankly it's one thing if somebody has their house burglarized, but a house of God. That takes a special criminal to go into a house of God and steal stuff. So I really want to catch this guy," said Detective Bob Mosman.

He is now asking the public for help. If you recognize the burglar you are asked to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233 or the detective at 509-625-4249.
