SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Police Department teamed up with multiple agencies to collaboratively clean up debris from several downtown areas Wednesday.

Code Enforcement, City Street department, Geiger clean-up crews and City Litter Team helped the SPD clean-up 5,820 pounds of debris during the month of June. Spokane Police said among the debris of garbage was human waste and drug paraphernalia.

Under the Maple Street Bridge alone, 3,000 pounds of debris was removed according to the department’s Facebook post.
