Witnesses recount drive-by shooting at Okanogan motel

Witnesses reported that they heard shots and saw a gray-colored four-door sedan when they came outside.

OKANOGAN, Wash. – Okanogan County Sherriff’s deputies responded to reports of a drive-by shooting at the Blue Mountain Motel late Friday night.

When deputies arrived around 10:20 p.m., they contacted a group standing outside of Trailer 25 at the motel, officials said.

Witnesses reported that they heard shots and saw a gray-colored four-door sedan when they came outside. One witness said he saw the subject point the gun in his direction and fire again before the vehicle sped off, and reported hearing four to fix shots.

Deputies recovered several shell casings from the scene and found a 1991 Honda Accord parked at the scene with several holes in it, officials said. They recovered one of the bullets from the vehicle and a concrete block that looked as if it had been hit by bullets.

Officials said Okanogan County Sheriff’s deputies are constantly responding to disturbances and problems at the motel. Over the last several years, they have received over 200 complaints at the location.

No one was injured and the case is still under investigation, officials said.
