COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho --- Police are investigating after a video of a brawl involving teenagers at a popular Coeur d'Alene destination was spread across social media.Tubbs Hill is across social media.
Coeur d’Alene Police said the fight happened on Memorial Day. Officials said they received a call about it but by the time they arrived everyone was gone. Detective Jared Reneau said a report was not filed then because there was no victim and not enough to follow up on.
But the next day the police saw the video that was being shared on a comedy Facebook page. It has more than one million views already. Unfortunately this video doesn’t make it much easier for detectives to make a case.
"In this case in particular, it’s challenging because we don’t have people who are even victims," Reneau said.
Police have spoken with some people who were there and they are investigating the fight. They are unsure how it started and who the teens are at this point.
Some of the people involved could be charged with aggravated battery, police said. Coeur d’Alene also has an ordinance against fighting in public. CAPD said when something like this happens it discourages families and other people from going to enjoy that area because of the fight.
