COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho --- Six teenage boys tried to plan a “purge” event to scare people on Oct. 30, according to the Coeur d’Alene Police Department.

CDAPD said six males wearing dark clothes and face masks and carrying weapons were harassing people in the parking structure and parking lot of the library near McEuen Park.

Two of the teens arrested include 19-year-old Jordan Evans and 19-year-old Corey Scott.

Police said when they arrived at the scene, all six ran away. Three of them were found in McEuen field near the pavilion, while two others ran to Tubbs Hill, trying to hide from officers.

An officer and K9 found the teens on Tubbs Hill, but a sixth male escaped.

While being interviewed after being detained, the suspects talked about planning a “purge” event to scare people. They brought several weapons with them including a golf club, an ax, a baseball bat and a plastic sword, according to police. One of the suspects even painted “purge” in red paint on two concrete walls in McEuen Field.

A woman called 911 on Sunday night to report the group circling her car in the parking lot of the Coeur d'Alene library wearing their masks and holding weapons. Other people in the parking garage would later tell police the group tried to threaten them as well.

The two suspects identified, Jordan Evans and Corey Scott, told an officer as he shined a flashlight on them that they are “from Spokane,” and “that’s what they do,” according to court documents. Court documents show the suspects met through Facebook and agreed to go to McEuen with masks to scare people.

Police charged Evans with aggravated assault, obstructing a police officer, and destruction of evidence. Scott was arrested and charged with criminal conspiracy, obstructing a police officer, and possession of paraphernalia. The three juvenile males were arrested and charged with various crimes including aggravated assault, criminal conspiracy, and obstructing a police officer. A sixth suspect is still at large.
