COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – The owner of the black Audi found submerged in Lake Coeur d'Alene earlier today admitted he was driving it at the time it went into the water, but did not have a reason why.
Dispatch confirmed authorities responded to a submerged car found off the 3rd Street boat launch in Coeur d’Alene.
At about 10:00 a.m. emergency responders pulled the car out of the water. There was no one found inside the car.
Casey W. Samuels, the owner of the vehicle, told police he was driving the car when it went into the lake, but did not have a "clear explanation" as to why the vehicle ended up in the lake.
Samuels was cited for reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
