Proof cats have nine lives | Cat survives fall from moving truck in Post Falls

The cat was hanging on beneath a truck on I-90 when it slipped, and fell right onto the freeway.

POST FALLS, Idaho -- A cat in North Idaho is doing ok after falling from under a speeding truck.

It happened on I-90 Wednesday in Post Falls. A man saw it happen and was able to take the cat to a rescue group.

"She was alert. She was purring, she was happy. She wasn't in shock," said Vet Tech Autumn Jolley.

The cat was hanging on beneath a truck on I-90 when it slipped and fell right onto the freeway.

"Well, we expected her to come in much worse shape than she was," Jolley explained.

A since-deleted video that was posted to Facebook Wednesday showed what happened. Jolley saw it and thought one thing.

"That there was no way the cat was still alive," she said.

A man who saw it happen, and took the video, rescued the cat and brought it to a local rescue group. Staff at the animal hospital nicknamed the kitty "Moana."

All Moana came away with were some cuts to her tongue and some damage to her nails. There is a takeaway that she did not get hit by another car.

“That she tucked and rolled. And she obviously knew how to avoid the situation,"

For now, the vet's office is waiting for the owner to come forward. If that does not happen by Monday, Moana will be up for adoption.
