WORLEY, Idaho -- The Coeur d'Alene Casino resort announced Friday that the Julyamsh Pow Wow has been cancelled due to a lack of space.
The hope was to hold Julyamsh on the Coeur d'Alene Reservation as the event draws some 1,600 dancers, the nation's most highly regarded drum groups and thousands of spectators.
Due to the sheer size of the event, and lack of space outdoors and infrastructure necessary to conduct it, the event was cancelled. Authorities are hopeful they can restore the pow wow soon.
For the past 17 years the pow wow was held at Greyhound Park in Post Falls, Idaho.
