COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho --- Police took a man into custody after a standoff in Coeur d’Alene.

James L Crile, 42, had an active warrant out of his arrest. Coeur d’Alene PD said they learned he was inside an apartment at 642 W. Wilbur Ave late Tuesday. Officers said they obtained an arrest warrant for the apartment, but Crile barricaded himself inside one of the rooms.

Coeur d’Alene PD said they had to call in SWAT officers, but eventually were able to take Crile into custody.

Witnesses said they were evacuated from the area and asked to stand in a nearby parking lot.

Officers took Crile to the Kootenai County Jail and booked him for the warrant and resisting arrest.

No word on what the original warrant was for.
