SPOKANE, Wash. — If you're anticipating relief from the heat, you might just have to wait a little longer.
Typically, our hottest days of the year are between July 24 and August 5, with an average temperature in the upper 80 degrees. That is changing in 2017, with temperatures expected to be above 90 degrees.
After August 5, the temperatures tend to get gradually cooler as this area goes into the coldest weeks of the year at the end of December and beginning of January.
So for 2017, the heat is expected to stick around a few more weeks. The entire month of August is expected to be hotter than normal.
