BONNER CO., Idaho – Bonner County Dispatch officials confirmed a train derailed along Highway 95 near Cocolalla Monday morning.
Between 25 and 27 cars, filled with grain, of the BNSF train derailed. Officials said the cars will be moved to the side of the tracks on Monday and most will be cut up.
Crews plan to have the rails repaired overnight and the lines open on Tuesday. Roughly 60 trains travel that line per day, including two Amtrak trains. Trains traveling through the area on Monday will be rerouted and some have been postponed until Tuesday.
Officials confirmed no one was injured in the derailment.
