CHENEY, Wash. – A current Eastern Washington Athletic Department employee is facing felony theft charges. Court documents show Don Ross, the associate director of athletics, is accused of stealing $4,200 from two different fundraisers in 2014. Ross was in charge of depositing the funds. When that did not happen, court documents show he told a coworker he “didn’t know” where they went.
Despite the allegations, Ross is still employed by the school. According to Eastern’s website, Ross is “accountable for all aspects of the department budget.”
When KREM 2 reached out to Eastern, they said he no longer serves as a financial officer in athletics, but is still on staff.
Eastern would not comment any further due to the pending legal matter. Ross is scheduled to go to trial in April.
