MOSES LAKE, Wash --- A Grant County man was arrested on Thursday for the second time in five years for running an illegal marijuana business.
The 58-year-old Stephen Sandberg was running an online marijuana retail business at his home just north of Moses Lake when Grant County’s Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team busted him. INET seized 75 marijuana plants, more than 15 pounds of processed marijuana and other marijuana products in the drug bust.
Sandberg had been arrested by the INET in 2012 at the same house for the exact same reason. He got a felony conviction for unlawful manufacture and possession of marijuana. That conviction prevents him from operating a legal marijuana business because any felony conviction in the past ten years means you can’t operate a legal marijuana business.
“That law helps protect those who legally use marijuana and adds a level of integrity to Washington’s marijuana retail industry,” said Sheriff Tom Jones.
