SPOKANE, Wash.— Garth Brooks brought the noise, and the money to Spokane during his concert series.

Visit Spokane’s public relations manager, Kate Hudson, estimated the country music star’s performances brought more than $14.6 million to the city of Spokane’s economy.

Hudson said that number includes transportation, recreation, food, lodging, and retail spending.

“This is great for Spokane and it’s great for business,” said Hudson.

Hudson said she was not surprised by the numbers.

“The last time we saw these kinds of numbers for a concert was the last time Garth Brooks was in town,” said Hudson.

The last time Garth Brooks preformed in Spokane was 19 years ago.

Hudson said the 2007 United States Figure Skating Championships also brought an economic boost to Spokane close to the Garth Brooks concerts.
