SPOKANE, Wash. – The construction near Wall Street and Spokane Falls Boulevard in downtown Spokane is finally wrapping up and a celebration is in order.

A water pipe was installed in the area to help reduce overflow of storm water to the river. The project took two summers to complete and helped in redesigning the block. The area is now more pedestrian friendly and can be used for city events.,

To celebrate the end of the project, the City of Spokane is throwing a block party.

The party starts at 11:30 a.m. and will feature food trucks, as well as live music.

There is also an opportunity to win prizes. The City is giving away a $150 to Runner’s Soul, a $200 savings bond provided by Wheatland Bank, $1000 to Nordstrom and $1000 to Urban Outfitters.
