Tony Black covers high school sports for KREM 2 and is also a Digital Media Producer. He moved to Spokane in January 2015.
Tony began as an intern for KREM 2 in May of 2014, before being hired on full time to run the high school sports section of KREM.com. Since taking over the high school coverage, Tony has increased the engagement between KREM 2 and the players, parents, and fans of high schools in the area. Tony helped implement a partnership between KREM 2 and aspiring journalists to publish their writings on KREM.com. Each student, parent, or athlete who submits an article receives full byline credit.
In January 2015, Tony accepted a position as a Digital Media Producer in addition to his HS responsibilities. In this role, Tony is responsible for managing, posting, and monitoring content that appears on KREM.com and on KREM's social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and more.)
Tony graduated from The Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University in December 2014. He earned a Communications degree with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism. Tony's passion for sports, writing, and storytelling has led him on a path to become a sports anchor.
When he's not working, Tony is likely watching --or talking-- about the Seattle Seahawks. He is an avid animal lover, enjoys playing sports, and writes short stories as a hobby.
