Meet the Staff

Cathy Hudek, R.Ph.

Cathy Hudek is co-owner and Director of Pharmacy at Riverpoint Pharmacy. A graduate of Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, Cathy has over 23 years of retail pharmacy experience. She has spent the last 10 years working in compounding pharmacy, specializing in natural bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. Her desire to help patients and physicians overcome difficulties with medications led her to open a compounding pharmacy here in Spokane, where the entire operation is dedicated to optimizing patient outcomes.

Cathy has been concentrating her recent efforts in compounding with specialized training in several different areas. She is trained, qualified, and certified to the highest board standards in aseptic medication preparation (injectables, eye drops, nose sprays, and inhalant solutions). Cathy has also trained to modify existing medication dosage forms, such as tablets, pills, or capsules into alternative applications such as creams, gels, liquids, lollipops (for children) and treats (for those finicky pets).

Cathy is a member of the American Pharmacists Association, The Washington State Pharmacy Association, the Spokane Pharmacy Association, the Professional Compounding Centers of America, the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists and The North American Menopause Society. Cathy has one daughter who is attending the University of Nebraska Medical Center in the nurse practitioner program. She also has two golden retrievers, Coki and Bailey, that she takes running, walking and swimming. Cathy also enjoys snow skiing, diving, snorkeling, golfing, and boating.

Vickie Landkammer

Vickie graduated in 2001 from the University of Washington with a Pharmacy Doctorate.  Prior to that she attended Rice University and received a Bachelor of Arts in 1991 with majors in Architecture, Art and Art History.   She has most recently worked in Seattle as a Clinical Care Coordinator and Lead Pharmacist at an Independent Pharmacy.  She has also had experience at several retail and institutional settings.  Her clinical care experiences include anti-coagulation testing and dose adjusting/counseling, providing screening tests such as cholesterol and hemoglobin A1c and patient counseling in a variety of settings.

Vickie’s current interests include bio-identical hormone replacement, the effects of nutrition on health and facility and program management.  The latter especially as it applies to regulations and procedures for sterile preparations.  Vickie has pursued these interests via seminars, lectures and specialized training.

Edie Ward

Edie graduated from WSU in 1992 and accepted a faculty position at WSU as a resident pharmacist specializing in geriatric medicine and drug utilization review.  This program studied the outcomes for early intervention of drug-drug interactions on the inpatient elderly population.   During this time she also participated in geriatric clinic evaluations working with physicians to improve medical outcomes.   Upon completion of the residency she took a position managing a local retail pharmacy.

After getting married in 1995 Edie stepped down as manager but remained in the retail sector.  In 2005 she accepted a position at Riverpoint Pharmacy where she began training as a compounding pharmacist. Edie specializes in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, nutritional evaluations including nutrient drug depletion, and topical pain management. She has spent the last several years attending medical seminars that focus on hormone replacement therapy, endocrinology, and functional medicine.

Edie grew up in a small farming community in Pasco and moved to Spokane to complete pharmacy school in 1991.  Edie met her husband, Doug in 1994 when she hired him as her electrician.   They live in North Spokane with their two boys, Hunter and Logan.  They spend their free time camping and driving the kids from one sporting event to another.  Doug is the Electrical Administrator for Worthy Enterprises and as such enjoys building hotels.  Hunter and Logan are crazy for sports and dream of vacationing at Legoland.
