We offer a wide variety of services at both of our clinics. If you have any questions concerning our services please visit, email, or call either of our two convenient locations. We offer extended hours to meet your individual needs. Hours are from 7-12 p.m. and 2-6 p.m. Monday - Friday, as well as, Saturday from 8-12 p.m. at the Monroe office only.

Insurance

We have a well-trained and knowledgeable staff to help you with your insurance questions. We are happy to call on benefits for you, and make these benefits clearly know to you. We offer flexible payment options, and will do our best to clearly present the anticipated costs to you based on the Doctors recommendations regarding your treatment needs. As a further benefit, we bill your insurance company for your care, minimizing the time you have to spend dealing with insurance concerns. Our goal is to provide a smooth billing process, allowing you to focus on improving your health and wellness. Clear communication and understanding regarding financial responsibilities is imperative for building great relationships with those we care for.

Digital Motion X-ray (only one in region)

This simple and quick examination procedure produces extraordinary results.

Houk Chiropractic Premier Wellness (HCPW) is the 1st and only treatment center throughout the Northwest region, which includes Washington, Idaho, and Oregon, to provide this service. This is a very unique approach to the evaluation of spinal and ligamentous injury as a result of an accident or trauma. It takes full motion pictures of your spine and transfers that to videotape for evaluation. HCPW is one of only a few clinics that have this technology available to the community and across the country.

X-Rays

We offer X-ray services for the neck, mid back, low back, hip and extremities when indicated as necessary. Here you see Sarah and Gina, two of our staff members going through the motions of someone being prepared for an upper-body x-ray.

We are very conservative on the x-rays we take, however we believe that to see is to know and to not see is to guess. We choose not to guess with your spinal diagnosis and assessment. We take special precautions with your x-ray exam with regard to age, pregnancy and other factors.

Techniques

Motorized Flexion Lumbar Distraction

Many people suffer with low back disc herniations, degeneration and spinal compression. Low back distraction is beneficial in reducing the size of a disc herniation, thus leading to improved spinal function and pain relief. At Houk Chiropractic's Premier Wellness, we offer this service in each of our treatment rooms for those with this type of problem. This has been highly beneficial over the past years.

Cervical Traction

Cervical traction is a very useful and helpful procedure for those suffering with disc or nerve compression problems in the neck. This procedure is provided in our office prior to or following your chiropractic adjustments.

Massage

As we all know, we cannot always control stress and tight muscles at any given time. Because of this we offer massage therapy services at 5 and 10-minute intervals prior to or following the adjustment to aid in relieving stress and "complementing" the adjustments. Many Patients appreciate the opportunity to receive a specific massage at a shorter interval, when time is in short supply. We also offer 30 to 60 minute massage service by appointment only.

Exercise and Stretching

Our clinic believes strongly in making exercising and stretching an integral part of the treatment plan and care. Improving health is a teamwork approach, where you are a key "team player" in the quality and speed of your recovery.

We offer many different types of exercise and stretching techniques specific to the type of condition and needs of the individual. This is further enhanced by our specialized training with the use of body balls for enhancing balance and coordination.

Rehabilitation

We offer specific rehabilitation services for many types of injuries such as those to the shoulder, knee, ankle, wrist and those specific to sports and/or deconditioning type problems. We utilize special types of balance boards, supports and isometric stretching with flexible tubing as well as other types of rehabilitation services for these injuries. Rehabilitation of injuries, new or old are very beneficial to achieving a higher level of excellence in sports or simply improving overall wellness for any individual.

Ice/Heat

With acute injuries, ice at specific intervals has been found to help reduce inflammation/swelling, allowing for a quicker healing time. On the other hand heat can help to reduce muscle tightness and spasms given certain conditions and circumstances.

At Houk Chiropractic's Premier Wellness we offer both ice and heat when appropriate to the condition, either prior to, or after the Chiropractic adjustments.

Foot Orthotics

Many people are unaware of the problems that may be caused as a result of improper foot and heel alignment. Not only are the feet effected, but pain and problems in the knee, hip and spine are often the result of these imbalances. Because of this we offer gait and foot evaluation as well as appropriate casting for truly custom orthotics.

Speaking/Educational

We not only offer a special consultation class for our Patients and family, covering what you can do to improve your general spinal health and wellness, but also are available to speak at special functions for the community.

Nutrition

Lack of appropriate nutrition is an epidemic in our society. We believe that providing appropriate recommendations and supplements leads to a greater level of wellness and function for our Patients. Proper nutrition for chronic spinal or health conditions as well as acute injuries is very beneficial to speeding up the healing process. This also helps the soft tissue and joints to function more appropriately.

We recommend and provide nutritional supplements, to achieve this goal. These supplements are especially beneficial for acute spinal and sports related injuries.
